How “Bad Bitches” Came Together

Sometimes a record starts because you hear something that immediately sparks an idea.

That’s exactly how “Bad Bitches” started for me.

Back in April 2026, I heard SadBoi’s “Pop Shit” and really liked the attitude and playful energy behind it. It wasn’t about trying to recreate the record. Something about its personality simply gave me an idea and made me think about where I could take that kind of energy with my own sound.

So I went into the studio and started building.

I rewrote the concept into something of our own and began producing around the vocal with a mix of Garage House and Tech House, bringing in shuffled drums, a driving low end and some of the hip-hop influence that naturally finds its way into a lot of my music.

Once the idea started taking shape, I knew Chanel XCENTRiC was the right person for the vocal.

Chanel and I have worked together before, so there’s already a creative chemistry between us. She understood exactly what the record needed and brought the lyrics to life with that confident, playful and unapologetic attitude.

That’s when the track really became “Bad Bitches.”

What I like most about this record is that you can hear where the initial inspiration sparked an idea, but the finished track became completely ours. Different production, different lyrics, different groove and our own personality behind it.

That’s one of my favorite things about making music. Inspiration can come from anywhere. You hear something, it triggers an idea, and then you disappear into the studio and see where that idea takes you.

This time, it led to “Bad Bitches.”

Another one with my favorite collaborator, Chanel XCENTRiC, and another piece of the sound we’ve been building together.
