What You Got’ Just Passed 20,000 Shazams Worldwide

Over the past year I’ve been watching something really interesting happen with my track “What You Got.” What started as just another record in the studio has slowly grown into something much bigger.

The track has now passed 20,000 Shazams worldwide, and what’s even more exciting is that the discovery hasn’t slowed down. The record is still seeing consistent daily Shazams from cities around the world.

Looking at the data, I’ve been seeing listeners discovering the track in places like Los Angeles, London, Paris, Milan, New York City, Miami, and Tokyo That usually means the record is being played in DJ sets and club environments, where people hear it on the dance floor and pull out their phones to Shazam it.

For me, that’s one of the coolest parts of making club music. You never know which record is going to connect with people out there in the real world.

“What You Got” has a catchy Tech House groove and energy that was built for the dance floor, so it’s amazing to see it continuing to circulate months after its release.

Right now I’m back in the studio experimenting with the project again and working on a new revised version of the track, so DJs might be hearing an updated variation sometime soon.
