Miami-based DJ & producer XCENTRiC® drops his breakthrough track “Annie
Okay”, a Minimal Tech House flip of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal.” Built
with intricate grooves, a chest-punching low end, and XCENTRiC’s unique edge,
this track is made for the underground and beyond.
Released on Droptone Records™ with publishing by XCENTRiC SOUNDS, Annie
Okay shows XCENTRiC at his sharpest yet. After hours of sculpting the sub and
percussion, the result is a mix that feels both heavy and wide open, his cleanest
and most balanced record to date.
The Original Mix drops on September 30, 2025, across all major platforms:
Spotify, Apple Music, Beatport, YouTube, and more.
About a month later, XCENTRiC will also release a DJ-optimized Extended Mix.
Unlike the Original, the Extended will first be available only for purchase on
Beatport and Traxsource, making it a true DJ-exclusive. A streaming release may
come later, but for now, the Extended stays in the hands of the selectors.
Ahead of release, early supporters and DJs can get exclusive access to the
Original Mix through Hypeddit promos and Buy Me a Coffee. This early push
keeps Annie Okay more than just another single, it’s a statement track built to
move dancefloors worldwide.
XCENTRiC’s connection to Michael Jackson’s legacy runs deep. He has met Janet Jackson personally, and his uncle, Harry Wayne Casey (KC) of KC and the
Sunshine Band, was close friends with Michael from childhood and remained
connected throughout their lives. This family tie makes Annie Okay not only a
powerful club track, but also a heartfelt tribute carried forward by the next
generation.
“This track came from a place of real connection. It felt like Michael’s energy was
with me the whole time, and finishing Annie Okay was emotional. It’s more than a
song to me, it’s a moment in my life I’ll never forget.”
